About the role
The Service Technician will be responsible for safely and efficiently completing site delivery and installation of Fundamentals products and services, working with others in the business to ensure customer satisfaction.
Tasks
Installation of cable containment systems
Installation of SWA cables and glanding
Completion of small wiring work and cable looming
Ability to understand and follow schematic, wiring diagram and general arrangement drawings
Understand and complete H&S documents (RAMs, DPOWRA, Hotworks permits, toolbox talks)
Undertake appropriate training and site authorisations
Ensure requirements are met or exceeded, safely and efficiently supporting our customer relationships
Ensure all customer requirements and procedures are implemented and maintained throughout the delivery process
Work within Health and Safety requirements
Ensure that all instructions for the safe operation of any equipment are followed, and that any PPE is worn as required
Maintenance of a safe and tidy working environment, to support a culture of care and quality in the workplace and on customer premises
Good housekeeping practices must be observed at all times
Report safety and quality issues to your project manager
Work within the company’s ISO certifications
Ability to work independently and within a team
Work in a constructive manner and promote co-operation with your colleagues
Interact with others in the department to resolve delivery/installation problems
Management of van stock and materials
Act as site manager, complying with Fundamentals and client health & safety requirements (including where required, qualified, and authorised, ensuring set up of sites and compliance with current CDM regulations).
Conduct weekly Tool Box Talks to your working party.

Requirements
Level 4 qualification in related subject or equivalent experience
Demonstrable interest in or experience of mechanical and electrical engineering
Experience of electrical circuit testing, fault finding procedures, electro-mechanical and electronic relay testing
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to learn quickly and master new skills
Work as part of a small team, on own initiative or follow instructions
Computer literate (Outlook, excel, word)
Good communication
Knowledge of Health, Safety and fire evacuation procedures
Read and understand electrical schematic diagrams
Understanding and able to follow Schematic Diagrams (Completing small wiring to schematic diagram)
Understanding of and ability to follow Wiring Diagrams
Understanding of Red/Green drawings
The following would be useful but not essential
SMSTS qualification (preferable but not essential)
Either SSEN, UKPN or NGED DNO authorisations (not essential)
ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) Qualification (not essential)
