Do you have a passion for Engineering, Innovation and a drive to create exceptional solutions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently seeking a Service Technician to become an integral part of our dynamic team in Swindon.

Who We Are and What We Do

We create, licence, manufacture, sell and provide services for technologies which:

  • Control and monitor high voltages and power (11 kV to 400 kV and up to 1000 MVA); and
  • Are fitted in electricity substations, on overhead power lines, and in control centres.

We call this Total Voltage Control.

Salary will be dependent on experience.  The role will typically involve working away (Monday to Friday) on customer sites in High Voltage Electrical substation environments within the UK.  Depending on workload you will also be expected to work at our Swindon facility in our relay production and panel workshop areas.

While the exact requirements of the role will depend on your experience, the majority of the tasks involved will relate to installation and commissioning activity including:

  • Panel and control wiring, including drilling, fixing etc.
  • Completing cable tray work including drilling, fixing etc
  • Completing PVC trunking
  • Making of SWA Glands/Cable lugs, including marking up and drilling of gland plates
  • Making up ferrule numbers/applying crimps

The following equipment will be provided:

  • General hand and power tools
  • Company Van
  • Company tablet device
  • All required PPE and company branded uniform

We are happy to consider those with experience or those looking to start a career in this area and would be delighted to hear from you if you have any of the following:

  • Experience within the electrical and mechanical engineering arena with an ability to perform manual tasks
  • Good knowledge and understanding of H&S, environmental and quality processes
  • Ability to understand and comply with method statements and risk assessments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic PC knowledge using Microsoft software
  • Be able to demonstrate a willingness to be adaptable to business needs.
  • SMSTS qualification (preferable but not essential)
  • Any DNO authorisations (not essential)
  • ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) Qualification (not essential)
