If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently seeking a Product Manager or Head of Product & Portfolio to become an integral part of our dynamic team in Swindon.

Who We Are and What We Do

We create, licence, manufacture, sell and provide services for technologies which:

  • Control and monitor high voltages and power (11 kV to 400 kV and up to 1000 MVA); and
  • Are fitted in electricity substations, on overhead power lines, and in control centres.

We call this Total Voltage Control.

Salary will be dependent on experience and the role.

As Product Manager you would be spending most of your time:

  • Maintaining and ordering the list of work to be completed, balancing market, customer and Company commercial needs
  • Making product-orientated decisions, supported as appropriate by:
  • market research, intelligence and competitor analysis
  • voice of the customer (VOC) to define requirements for new product and feature development
  • Providing market-based input into product pricing
  • Working to gain customer approvals
  • Support with product promotion and tendering
  • Providing specialist product knowledge and support to the business; using your expertise to forecast challenges and develop solutions
  • Work with Marketing to produce content for promotional material
  • Being the central hub for information relevant to customers
  • Liaising with Account Managers for effective and consistent communications with customers
  • Providing pre-sale technical and application advice to customers
  • Advising customers in the use of the product and solving customer product-related issues

Additional responsibilities of Head of Product Portfolio:

  • Being an active member of the Leadership Team & advising on matters within your areas of accountability.
  • Contributing to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making, and providing analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
  • Leading and developing the teams and people who are accountable to you.
  • Reporting to the Leadership Team and Board on your accountability areas.

Product Manager or Head of Product & Portfolio requirements:

  • Degree or HND level qualification preferably in an electrical, electronic or software engineering discipline, or relevant industry experience. (Significant experience for the Head of Product & Portfolio role)
  • Excellent motivational, negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Credible and confident communicator at all levels, capable of reading and understanding technical specifications and drawings.
  • Able to think ‘big picture’ and prioritise and manage and drive change.
